Japanese Keyboards
You do not need to install a Japanese input method to write kana. These keyboards turn romaji into hiragana or katakana as you type, and give you an on-screen key grid you can tap on a phone. Whatever you write stays in your browser and is never stored.

Frequently asked questions
How do I type Japanese with this keyboard?
Type romaji and it becomes kana instantly — konnichiha turns into こんにちは — or tap the keys on the on-screen grid. You can mix both. Switch between hiragana and katakana at any time, then copy the result.
Do I need to install a Japanese input method (IME)?
No. The keyboard runs in your browser, so you can write kana on a computer or phone that has no Japanese input set up, without installing or configuring anything.
How do I type small kana, っ, or long vowels?
Double a consonant for the small tsu (kippu → きっぷ), and use the small-kana keys on the grid for ゃ, ゅ, ょ, and ぁ–ぉ. The ー key adds the katakana long-vowel mark.
Is what I type stored anywhere?
No. Text is converted to produce your result and is never written to a database or shared. Server logs record only request metadata such as the time and status code, never your text.
